Aware me on stock market (srs)

If you want to make maximum returns in a short period of time, lets say 5 years

what stops you or is wrong about doing this

1. google 10 best performing stocks in past 10 years

2. equally invest in said 10 stocks

3. make more interest than if you went with blue chip index funds (S&P / Nasdaq / DJI)

4. profit

If you want to set it and forget just buy an optimized mix of asset allocations. If you have under $500k just buy etfs - if you have over a mill you can do it with individual equities.

There you go. You’re aware.

Srs. Just diversify.

not talking about a retirement account, just maximizing gains for a period of time and taking reasonable risk. Making 6% on index funds doesn't move the needle for that

So you want to buy things at the tops of the biggest run ups over the last decade?

This is more nebulous than the truly simple thing, which is to try buying stuff for less than it is actually worth
