Although some of the Ameri'brahs may not have heard of this case, the murder of James Bulger was a huge event in UK and shocked the nation back in 1993. I remember it clearly. People still talk about it today. I will provide a link to the full story, but will briefly summarize what happened.

+2 year-old boy goes missing in Shopping Centre in Liverpool (NE England)
+Reported missing to Police and alerts go out
+CCTV images show James in company of two young lads, so parents breathe a temporary sigh of relief believing he is safe
+James was NOT safe, and sadly his body was discovered on nearby train tracks a few days later (he had been severed in half but had died before this)
+Two 10 year-old boys arrested and charged with murder
+Shocking details revealed about the level of torture James was put through before death, some details of the injuries have never been released as so disturbing
+It later came to light that NUMEROUS witnesses had seen James being dragged through town by the boys, bloodied and crying, but people either didn't intervene or did so half-heartedly and just let the boys continue on their way
+A lot of outrage at the boy's light custodial sentences and people screaming that the death sentence should apply

IIRC they are both out of jail, for a long time now and thousands is spent on keeping their identities hidden. In fact it's a crime and people have been prosecuted for locating/naming them. I also remember hearing one of them got caught with loads of kiddie porn at some point.

They should have been executed.

Fuk man I was literally just revisiting this story last week. Hadn't heard of it in many years and had not considered a 30 year anniversary was upcoming. Legit teared up re-reading the details (dead fkn srs). One of the worst stories I've ever read. What a senseless cottamn tragedy.

One has kept his nose clean since their release in 2001. The other one has been nothing but trouble, been back in prison multiple times for downloading images of child abuse, going back to Liverpool etc & has had to be given multiple identities as he keeps revealing them. Clearly rehabilitation works for some & not others.

Venables has revealed his identity multiple times & had to be relocated & given new ID at taxpayer expense. The other one has been out for 22 years & has never been in trouble since-he deserves to be left alone. The trial was a total farce as they were tried as adults & they had to build a special courtroom for them, as they were too small to be seen or see over the dock.

Crimewatch show appeal less than a week after the murder.

Mary Bell was back in the 1960's. There have been many of these going back centuries-several of them younger than these two & most of those were in the US.

They can't, they are barred from Liverpool for life. Venables was arrested & sent back to jail for breaking this order. Thompson has totally rehabilitated his life & is said to be married with children-he should be left alone. The other one they should just throw away the key.
