Did you ever skip a funeral that you in hindsight wish you didn't?

After my best friend ODd (about 7 years ago), I was so angry with him I didn't go to his funeral. He left his parents, two sisters, and my whole friend crew. He had just lived with me for 4 months one week before. He wasn't a junkie and generally never did opiates, but clearly didn't know how much he was taking.

Really wish I'd gone, looking back on it.

No, as you get older you really don't want to go to any of them. Went to quite a few family friends/distant relatives in the 80's, 90's & 2000. Grandad went in 1995, Nan in 2002 & my father in 2010. Unless it is close family I am not going to any more.

I always skip them whats the point they are dead and gone and not coming back.

it's for your own sake, not for theirs.

idk think it would have helped me close the chapter, rather than harboring the anger for so long. Maybe it would have changed nothing, but who knows.

From what i observed it seems most funerals are just to make people feel better about themselves and getting free food out of it and having a day out srs
