I like the MISC but DAMN this place is hella depressing...

I reformatted my computer and couldn't log in for like 2 weeks so I just didn't visit MISC.

Came back to check out what's going on here and my god it's depressing AF... every thread is some sort of b!tching about women, height, standards, shaming renters/money...

Like damn, can't we talk about hobbies? New GYM PRs? New energy drink flavors? Finding awesome movie recs?

Taking a break from this place can be a good thing at times.

life is depressing and gets worse each year at least back when the misc was popular there was still a bit of optimism now most people know whats going on

I think a big part of it also is the misc population getting older. Much harder for us to change/"make it" if we haven't already, and though you can always make efforts, a lot of us have relatively predictable trajectories.

Srs, this pace is depressing as fuk. I find myself actually trying to keep busy at work now instead of miscing, it's horrible.

Remember last year when it was private and everyone was saying it would be dead soon because it's closed off? Turns out it's even worse than dead now that it's public again. Brutal.

Don’t forget about the 80 threads/ day on marriage problems in some 3rd world country we’ve never heard of…

My theory on that is sleeper cell correspondence, misc is the perfect place to bury it.
