Was pleasantly surprised at the amount of tuning that Elden Ring got in the past year. They had that 1.07patch that had major buffs to a **** ton of spells and weapons, opened up a huge variety of playstyles. Also nerfing the obscene **** like dual blood twinblades

Honestly the game is just fun. Your.build and play style don't really matter. There's so many different ways to approach things it's really an incredible experience.

I've used a lot of the great offensive builds. Right now I'm doing a higher stamina build wearing heavy armor and using defense buffs. I never thought armor mattered, but like a lot of stuff in this game, when you stack your build and buffs you can really do something crazy and fun. My easiest playthrough yet. I learned a lot watching this video.



Defensive build paired up with blade of blasphemy for health regeneration and sword of milos for mana regen and I just bulldozed through all the dungeons without any difficulty. It's not the most optimal build for bosses but it works great for just zerging through chaff.

I'm assuming this is an ability that was nerfed lol.

I want to end up like a badass sepiroth type character in the end so I'm hoping there's a powerful weapon/playstyle that looks similar. Maybe if it has a couple spells too but I don't know how much casting is in this game.

Ridiculous amounts of casting.

There's regular holy (priest) spells, intelligence (mage) spells, all weapons have imbued spells and tempers based on different elements like lightning, fire, ice, poison, rot, blood. Then theres different spells from different factions you fight. Beast spells, dragon spells, crucible spells, some weird godskin death magic.

And no limits on any of it. You can raise any stats you want and make any sort of hybrid you want. The higher you level up the more stuff you can do. After level 150 or so most of the game becomes pretty trivial though outside of a few bosses.

There's plenty of awesome katanas in the game. I'm not a big fan since they're mostly dexterity based and don't do much poise damage. They're great for enemies that bleed but not so great for armored opponents. They don't do much poise damage so it's harder to get knock downs and stuns with them.

They have Clouds/guts weapon in the game too, the collosal greatsword.

Holy chit, I was expecting maybe just a few more spells than Demons Souls. I really managed to avoid watching any content whatsoever but if the combat is so varied I might have a pretty good time customizing a sick build. Damn okay.

You can beat radahn just by riding around summoning your friends.

Get a decent ranged ash of war and take some pot shots here and there. If you unlocked the capital you can grab the lightning spear pretty easy and it does pretty good damage with a dex build. Good range and never misses.

Not sure if rotten breath works on him but that always helps take down tough melee bosses.

Haven't been to the capital. I appear to have only a fraction of the summonable characters there.
Maybe I'm doing this a bit too early. But I will beat him this weekend, not going back to work until I do.

If you keep failing just finish Linuria of the lakes and open up the Altus plateau.. You really should do that before Radahn. Come back with more levels and better gear. More health pots, more vigor, more whatever melee skill you're leveling up.

You could even unlock the palace approach ledge site of grace from Linuria and then you can easily level whatever stats you want for your build.

I did radahn before. Took a few tries but I was fine. I was a strength build with that sword thats made up of a bunch of smaller swords.

One playthrough I didn't even fight him just rode around summoning all the helpers and they eventually killed him. They do run out of charges though so try to summon them together. If they go in one by one he'll just slaughter them and they won't do enough damage.

I love how they made him look like raidan from mortal combat. Should have given him a bad ass lightning ash of war.

He's a great NPC and I love how his quest line ends.

My current play through was the only one where I got him to help me with the dragon Agheel. The only way you can get his help is to get his warning, then die to the dragon, then go back and talk to him again and he will aid you.

I normally would just keep trying until I beat it. This time I was pretty under-level for the dragon so I just ran around limgrave some more. After going back by him again I saw his dialog changed.

Miquella about to be Elden Ring’s version of Griffith?

Trying to decide if I really want to do all the dungeons again on my second character that I made specifically in case any dlc came out. It’s been awhile and I do need to get the feel back for playing but not looking forward to doing a lot of them again lol.

If only there wasn't so much platforming. I don't know how people can even use great runes. I use them once in a while for a boss fight, but normally I die so much trying to jump across chasms it would be pointless. I'd burn through all my rune arcs in an hour or two.
