This is going to be a long one, so buckle in here.

-Join rec kickball league season 6.
-Two half-teams merge into one big team. One with about 4 married couples I know, and the other with like 3 other married couples. It's looking like another 27th wheel situation for FAbrah.
-BUT. The team we're merging with has one single girl on it.

-And the REAL BIG CHIT is that someone on my team must have warm-introduced me before the game.
-This girl's all waving at me and smiling and chit. Like signs of interest. WTF.
-"I heard you were good at bar trivia." Well yes I fukking am, but some kickball brahs must have tipped her off.
-We are cooking with gas here.


-Mid 30s biomed professional.
-Barely talks and seems absolutely autistic.
-But wood bang.

-We go for drinks after the game.
-She basically holds court surrounded by me and 2 other single dudes.
-One of them looks like a mega incel with acne and uncombed hair. Other dude lifts and is personable, but is literally 5'4" and looks like his face got smashed in. I'm not getting mogged by these dudes, I'm still in it.
-I get pretty fukkin drunk. Start asking this girl questions about herself and get a conversation going. She doesn't talk much but was at least is willing to play ball. Don't really have a sense for how it went, but don't think I'm out of it.


PLOT TWIST

-My boss emails me this past week.
-Says I need to start "training my backup" in Bangalore, so "the team can have 24/7 coverage of issues on X circuit."
-The debugs and problems that X circuit generates can be solved in about 5 hours a week. There's no work there for me to offload to ****** Unless of course....

-"I've scheduled a time where you can meet ****** and start knowledge transfer. Please attend these meetings."
-The time is right during our weekly kickball games.
-Will likely miss all the other games of this season.
-Unless I can schedule something outside of games like bar trivia, I will miss all contact with autistic STEM chick.
-This is already the best opportunity I've had to meet a woman in the past 8 fukking years, and I got cawkblocked by fukking ******
