doesn't matter where the muscle tear is, if you don't have it repaired surgically it will NEVER be the same.

are you sure it's a tear and not just tendonitis?

i had distal bicep tendonitis. fix for me -

1. take 2 weeks off.
2. resume with lighter weight.
3. get blood to the affected tendons through stretching and holding low weight at curl in position at extreme negative.
4. use a mini massage gun on the area.
5. apply hot compress before activity and cold compress after.

it's a tear, the long-head of my bicep moved back about an inch and it's been in pain for about 3 months.

pretty sure I missed the surgical repair window, watched some videos of people who recovered over time and didn't lose too much strength.

ouch.

1. how did you tear it?
2. how much pain do you currently have on a scale of 10 and how much does it inhibit your workouts, job, and activities of daily living - like wiping your ass?
3. i would avoid surgery if possible but not sure that's possible.

Awhile back I fell on my elbow and it awoke to the size of a basketball. They didn’t know what I did but it healed on its own. I think I did something to the ucl though but I’m able to do everything I was doing before. Shooting a basketball is the hardest thing to do

Had partial tear in mine. Tear in the muscle tho, not the tendon. Took 9 months to a year to heal. Saw a specialist and they said no surgery was necessary. Gives me no trouble now but i also dont go heavy on biceps anymore due to fear

I'd see an ortho immediately and get surgery as soon as I could...ded fkn srs
I'm 3 weeks post op from my 4th surgery (2nd elbow surgery) and would do it all over again if I had to. I went 1.5 yrs trying PT, prednisone, cortisone injections, time off etc...When none of that worked, my surgeon agreed to just fix it; should have done that 1.5 yrs ago.

You look young. If you plan on training for years to come, as I do, you want to get it fixed immediately and stop trying all this BS that isn't going to work.

This is the day the cast came off; about 1 week ago. The longer scar to the outside is when I had to have my tricep reattached...that was a procedure.

Again, this is just me; I'm a "just fix it" guy; I hate wasting valuable time when I could be actually recovering and not hoping. And whatever you do, don't let them talk you into PRI

Don't do heavy "mixed grip" deadlifts (but if you're not deadlifting heavy, you don't need mixed grip anyway)
Don't overload your biceps in a stretched position
Don't overload any bodypart...but what fun is that?

My injuries are all BB'ing related injuries that come with years of being very hard on the body. I wouldn't trade it for anything though

Try BPC-157. It's supposedly magic for tendonitis and minor tendon issues. It won't repair complete tears though. (Ded fkn Srs)

This and TB500 are options. They won't reattach in the correct spot is the only issue with tears or disconnects

swisschems is reliable.
Is swisschems really reliable? I haven't heard any consistent reviews and reddit rips them apart. They also only provide their own in house labs, where other legit sources provide 3rd party labs. (Ded fkn Srs)

Get surgery immediately. Depending on the nature of the rupture it may not be too late. You don't want to regret not getting this done years down the line.

I had a rupture of distal bicep tendon last year. Saw two nurses who both said it's fine and won't need surgery. Went to a private physio instead, who got my GP to refer to to the arm & shoulder clinic. After getting the MRI results they wanted me in surgery the following day. Almost a year on from surgery, I'm still around 10%+ weaker in that arm than the other, but in far better condition than I would have been otherwise.

I just got surgery for a broke humerus…got a buddy that had a biceo tear that needed surgery. Both of us had nerve damage from the surgery so its a possibility you may need a long recovery time from it

If it's a significant tear...surgery. A small tear or strain, I have recovered from with rest, alternate movements, TB500/BPC157. Modifying Pull movements and using straps.

How long did it take you to recover ?

I would go to an ortho. If it truly is torn, then surgery is your only option. If it is a low grade strain, then you do have other options like PRP. I have a body at the gym who tore his in his thirties. Now in his sixties he has limited range of motion and strength because he thought he could fix it. No amount of rehab or peptides can reattach your bicep
