Chest flexibility in the gutter, any advice?

Not sure what happened, been working on regularly for a few months after taking a long time off. Recently been having a strained feeling in my chest when I make certain movements (such as spreading arms wide and behind my back) so I figured I needed to rest longer. Been about a week and it's still happening, so going to go ahead and keep taking it easy until it feels better.

But after then, I'm not sure what to do to avoid this issue. I do yoga once a week and work out on a 3 days split (legs - chest/back - shoulders/arms). I don't lift heavy weights at all, going for hypertrophy instead of strength.

Any advice?

chest flexibility? are you sure it's not a lack of shoulder flexibility?

I'll come over. We can get a bottle of wine. I'll massage your chest and you can massage my left knee. Then you can bench and I can squat and we could maybe give each other a bro job after?
Mother north, united we stand, together we walk
Phantom north, I'll be there when you hunt them down.

Not sure. I feel it specifically in my chest, but it's when I'm moving my chest and shoulders and back so it could be?

try light chest flies before any bench work (stretch the pecs as much as you can before you feel any pain). also try using bands.

work on your shoulder flexibility/mobility and see if it improves. You can pair it with stretching your chest with an arm against the wall, but really can't imagine it's that.
