Roommates walking all over the floor with boots covered in snow and mud

Am I the weird one for thinking this is ridiculous? There's a mat and a space to keep indoor shoes right by the door, but people aren't using either. They don't even wipe their damn feet before walking in. I've spoken to the owner several times and he doesn't seem to care.
