Misery loves company for one. Plus, people get jelly anytime you are making moves to get ahead. Such as at my job, the pay isn't bad, but it's not that good, and I should be making more but they are offering my training in other aspects that could open the door to much higher things. All I hear is "fuuuuuuuukkkkk that I wouldn't do that unless I was getting paid extra". As a salary employee I could be doing that or something else. They think I should just take liesure time and milk my time. That's why they have been working the same job 10+ years and nothing has really changed including their pay.
