it's hard to pin down because it all depends on your definition of an athlete.

is it the most winningest? is it the most genetically gifted? is it the most dominant? is it the most physically freakish?

For example, Usain Bolt. His sport doesn't demand all that much other than running, but he is literally the fastest man of all time. He's the fastest of all time in the most ancient measure of athleticism, which is pure speed.

Then there is Jon Jones. Sure, he is dominant and has never lost in MMA. But the problem is MMA is sport with VERY shallow talent pool, so how do you take that into account?

What about Tiger Woods? Yeah, he's dominant as fukk and the GOAT of his sport, but nobody would take a look at him and think he's an elite genetic specimen.

For me, I value raw physical talent above anything else.

Wilt Chamberlain, Mike Tyson, Tyson Fury, Usain Bolt, Lasha Talahadze would quickly come to mind.
