If you believe in hell, having children is the most immoral and evil act you can comm

You're essentially gambling your child not suffering eternally just so you can be a parent. Extremely selfish.

Agreed

I think the logic of parents is since having children is joyful the children will get to experience it when they have theirs so it makes up for the suffering

We all have free will. Having children is an opportunity for the parents to grow and progress. Raise them the best you can but ultimately their path is their own.

But you’re also saying “I can raise them in a way that will allow another soul to experience eternal bliss”.

But then you'd be a Biological failure if you have no children.

The Bible also says that people need to spread throughout the Earth. God destroys the Tower of Babel telling mankind that they can't have one langauge and stay in one place.

There are those who think that life has nothing left to chance, a host of holy horrors to direct our aimless dance. A planet of playthings, we dance on the strings of powers we cannot perceive. The stars aren't aligned or the Gods are malign, blame is better to give than receive. You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill.

I will choose a path that's clear, I will choose Freewill

What is "good" to you? I think I've seen enough of your posts to know hard isn't necessarily bad, and good doesn't necessarily mean easy to you. Just curious.

If you turned the question back on me I would say it is different for everyone, but a basic starting point is you have to raise them in a way so that they feel their life has value. Not an easy task right now.

You can be religious. But if it's the wrong religion, then you will suffer eternally in hell. Thousands of religions. Those aren't the best odds. Luckily, my religious beliefs are correct so I'm good to go.

Also, I need to make sure I have a legacy. If my children burn in hell, so be it. As long as I get to have my legacy.

if you believe in hell then presumably you believe in the other parts of the bible that say the childs soul is in gods hands and not yours

and as Jesus said “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”

so if you believe in hell you also believe that you didnt have the child, it was gifted to you by god.

children are considered a blessing in christianity and more people should view it that way. your puggle is not a child

It is still gambling your child's eternal welfare just you can get to experience what being a parent is like.

You cannot guaranteed that your child will not follow the guidelines needed to not fall into hell. What moral justification is there to have children then?

Brb want bloodline to continue,
Brb want family legacy to keep going,
Brb want to experience being a parent.

All reasons come down to entirely selfish justifications. The only one that's not is it you want to share your joy and love to a child. In that case you can adopt which again most people won't do solely because of selfish reasons.

People get triggered by hearing this because goes against their wants and desires. However wants and desires do not morally justify putting someone at risk for suffering all of eternity.

The rewards are miniscule compared to the punishment.

I'm sitting here with my son right now. He has straight A's this year. We're going to go lift in a little bit. He wants to be big and strong like me. He doesn't know what he wants to do when he grows up, but he wouldn't mind doing what I do.

seems the gamble is paying off...

I felt a moral obligation to have children bro. I have good genetic stock, and a good head on my shoulders. The world will be a better place if people like me continue to have kids. I think I could have done better, and hope my kids can do better than I did. srs

Having kids is a sacrifice. You have to invest your time, money and substantial effort into raising them.

I could have lived large spending all my time money and effort on myself, I chose to have kids instead.

You can't live in fear of failure, for yourself or your children.

I don't see how this is relevant but no I wasn't. In fact I will inherit millions when my parents pass.

I came to this conclusion when a religious uncle of mine has a teenager who's into drugs and has gotten into trouble with he law many times. Based off his beliefs he said his kid will likely end up in hell and it disturbed me how nonchalant he was about it.

That's why the birth rates for Japan and Korea for example are negative. People are acting like there's something wrong with those societies but it's simply rational people looking at their lives being hard and overworked and making a rational decision. Meanwhile, India and Africa are poverty stricken yet every woman still has 10 kids.
This. If you wanna have kids, go ahead. But if you're poor, then it is extremely stupid/selfish.

Here in Philippines, almost everyone got kids. Even poor ones or even lower middle class who can just give the bare minimum. Sucks for kids to spend their childhood like that. My dogs have better lives than most kids here yet people here have at least 3 kids, many ending up as beggars, malnourished, or grow up having the same ****ty lives.
