Dream log thread

I had a night of fairly vivid dreams so I feel compelled to make a thread to log them whilst they are fresh in my mind. Feel free to add your own, just keep it serious and don't just make dreams up.

Last nights dream was segmented...

At our old family home, there was a fish pond at the bottom of the stairs with some huge goldfish in there, so big they were only half in the water. One of the tiny goldfish flew out and was flying around the house. I remember telling my parents in the dream that the fish pond was getting a little out of control (as if it being there at all wasn't an issue) and my Dad was very nonchalant about it.

The person who composed the music for 'Dexter' died during the making of the series, and Michael C Hall was very upset and said that the later seasons weren't the same.

I was practise wrestling with Brock Lesnar, and had to tap out. I remember thinking that his huge neck must be due to all the wrestling he did.

A young man was executed via being thrown into freezing water to drown/freeze by a leader type figure. I remember watching the in the dream and just hoping it was quick.


No...I didn't smoke anything last night.

Last night's dream; My family was staying in some holiday home (dream didn't tell me where it was), and the place was in a state of decay. There were holes in the floorboards big enough for a child to fall through. In one section a huge chunk of wall was rotted away and the corridor was just open to the outside.

More disturbingly, I dreamt that I was basically totally bald on top and only had a monk's tonsure round the sides. I am very conscious of my receding hairline and thinning around my scalp. So my dream took that concern and amplified it.

I can only recall a fragment of last nights dreams. I was in some nondescript building, and I heard a load of voices tell "The Terror" from nearby. In the dream I realised that I had to run as The Terror was basically a pack of sadists who would kill you in horrific ways if they caught you...kinda like the Crossed from that graphic novel series.

I watched 'The Forever Purge' last night so I'm 99% sure that was what influenced the dream. I tried to run in the dream but was real slow.

I had a dream last night that I was at my old family home and saw three gigantic spiders on the lawn, like Australian sized spiders, they then started moving toward me aggressively...but turned into birds before they got to me so I wasn't so scared.

What I recall from last nights dreams; I was watching some movie or TV show and this sexy black female started showing her vagina and talking about it, another sexy black girl stuck her fingers in and it basically became a lesbian porn. I recall thinking that it was odd how I was seeing in this in a standard non-porn drama.

I had a dream there was a mass stabbing in Perth, Australia during which some deranged lunatic slit the throat of a random man at a grocery store and then barricaded himself behind a building to attack police officers head on. In this dream the Australian government disarmed all police so they had no projectile weapons at their disposal. This lunatic was just slicing up every single officer who tried to detain him. It was a tragedy. 30 men los their lives before they deployed a military sniper to take the thug out. For some reason I was witnessing it all from an amusement park that was on a hill overlooking the crime scene.

Crazy dream. I’ve never even been to Australia and I doubt something like that would ever happen.

I had a dream recently that my Dad had shrunk to 5ft or so and I towered above him. In reality he is maybe 1 inch shorter than me as he has shrunk a little.

Last night's dream was actually set in my current home...which is rare. Maybe because I have been sleeping downstairs recently it has influenced by dream style.

In the dream, two people, a man in his late 40s early 50s and his teenage son were outside my door late at night. I went to the door and was about to speak to them through the letter box, when they started dropping loads of envelopes through the door, like £10 notes in each envelope. In the dream this money made sense, I think it was charity money of some kind.

The next thing I knew, the pair had somehow go past me into the house and were in my kitchen. I accepted this for a bit as they had donated a load of money. We had a bit of a brief conversation. My Dad was also there but was becoming a little agitated at their presence. I then announced to them that they were not invited and needed to leave, they could take the money back if they wished. The son then slowly walked toward me into the dark (the room was suddenly dark for some reason) and I saw that he carried a large kitchen knife. I was afraid but tried to disarm him. I awoke then as I always awake if I am involved in direct combat in my dream.

Is there any particular theory you subscribe to? Jung?

Cool thread I dream every night, and can almost recall them right away. Lucid dreaming is fun too, but I'm rarely able to achieve it.

Interesting dream I had last night was in the dream my aunt is on the phone complaining to a restaurant that she's owed money, because she didn't get her food lol was just a weird conversation that didn't make sense, but you could tell she was upset about something, and wanted to be reimbursed.

Funny enough I saw her today, and she told me she won $200 in a scratch off lottery ticket, and showed me the cash. Very weird.

I remember one dream I had a few years ago where Emperor Palpatine and Bill Belichick were hugging. Palpatine was sniffing him and and let out a ravenous scream and buried his face in Belichick's neck.

No. I have never really studied any dream related theories. I know that despite the seeming randomness of dreams, they can be interpreted into meaning something though. Freud, Jung and others have written extensively about this subject but I have never read any of their works.

Feel free to detail some of your own dreams and what you think they might symbolize.

Sure. I'll start with a very simple one, I think. A have a recurring dream where I enter a room and attempt leave via a door. Except, rather than simply walk through the door and continue on my way, I walk right into another door. Then another, and another, and I'm just walking through an endless series of doors which go nowhere, ad infinitum.


I think its symbolic of feeling stuck in life and frustrated, which definitely makes sense since my PhD program is just going on, and on, and on.....

The only part of last nights dream I recall was that there was a man having a "date" in a place which could have been Amsterdam or Venice (there was a canal/waterway in the background) with an attractive young girl. The man was not me as I have never been on a date so my mind cannot fabricate experiences in that way. Anyway, they were discussing money. The girl had a large wad of cash but was telling the man that "they" needed more wads of cash. I dunno.

What I recall from last night's dream; I was on a beach with super clear water and a few dark skinned people milling around. Then I noticed a disturbance in the distance, I then had images of "infected" horde swarming the beach and everyone retreating into the water as the infected can't swim.

The second part was that I was staying in some holiday apartment and a group of people I didn't really know where having breakfast downstairs and I wasn't sure about joining them. They were eating some sugary desert which didn't really look like a good breakfast.

Last night's dream, or parts of it. I was going back to a 'Krav Maga' session after 18 months off. The instructor didn't seem to recognize me. When I went into the training gym, it was a dark room and there were lots of people sitting on the floor in suits. My Dad was there and I felt embarrassed and wanted to leave before he could see me. I tried to walk out but someone grabbed my wrist hard and I was worried that this would draw unwanted attention.

I was sitting in a room with one of the regulars from my gym who I say hi to but who's name I don't know, and my bro walked in and I introduced the two. My bro say "aright mate" loudly and in a common way. I don't know where this room was.

Last nights dream was multi-sectioned;

I was in the dark and carrying a barbell to my car, which was parked at some grotty run down petrol station. There was a line of people waiting to get money from an ATM.

I was at a meal and speaking to my younger bro about a sensitive subject matter (race related) and the waitress overheard us and made weird faces. I had a brief convo with the waitress who was complaining at what I was saying, but I remember that she wasn't really addressing the points I was making. The next thing I knew I was speaking with the manageress, who was an obese middle aged women in just her underwear, who shook her huge flabby ass at me.

I was walking down a road in the countryside but there was a huge group of young black kids hurling balls to each other. The balls were flying everywhere and I weary about being hit by one. It was some kind of event for black people I believe, which was weird as we don't tend to have "black" events in the countryside in UK.

In last night's dream, I recall that I was in a park and a black man was firing a pistol into the air, as if to scare people. Of course people were running in fear thinking it might be another mass shooting. But then out of nowhere Muhammad Ali (looking around 50 or so) arrived and quickly calmed the man down with a few quite words. Then the chant of "Ali, Ali, Ali" went up around the crowd and we were all shouting his name.

Another multi-pronged dream last night;

I had been asked to look after an old lady who was in a wheelchair, just for a short period of time. There were several of us sharing this responsibility. I do not know who she was or what my obligation to help was. She seemed pleasant and mentally with it though, which helped.

I found myself walking around a rough area in the city, and eventually seemed to be walking around a gang base, as I saw rough looking men holding AK47s and crates of goods. I felt nervous and left the area. Once outside, I looked back and saw that it was some kind of miliary outfit with a signpost. I was not harassed or challenged or anything which is odd given that it was a secure area, but dreams are dreams.

I was playing a video game, but my physical self was transported to where I was in game. So I "came out" of the game and was stuck up a huge tree. I managed to get back to the ground somehow.

I visited my old home, as it had been when we left it. I looked through the window and it was as if we had never left. I drive past now and again and the new owners have changed it considerably.

One of those fragmentated dreams last night.

I stopped off at some fast food place in the city. I went in and the tables were just full of trash. Some youths cleared a space near them by moving the trash aside, but I didn't really want to eat there so left. I found some cold, untouched burger but did not eat it.

My Grandparents old home was now an airbnb holiday rental place. I rented it, but found out that there was no TV so felt cheated. But then I looked back, and there was a TV there, but it was some small CRT bulky chit from the 90s. Then I gelt a knock and turned around and my long dead Grandma was standing there. I recall being angry with her and even wanting to strike her as she appeared in an antagonistic sense.

The fact that you were not participating directly, and that you felt disturbed by the dream upon waking, indicates that at least you have an aversion to Satanism. Can you recall what the ritual entailed?

Yeh. It was a gathering inside a hall and their leader had just died, and they had his corpse on an altar. Two of his subordinates slit his neck with daggers and drained a large proportion of blood from him, and it went all over the floors too. They put the blood into chalices and drank it, apparently to transfer his life force into them or something. The ritual was performed in the nude, by the participants.


Sort of disturbing, but it wasn't like a living sacrifice or unwilling victim or something.

The weirdest dreams I have are the ones in which I'm running from something chasing me. BUT, you can't run in a dream, so what I do in the dream is turn around and run backwards because it's faster to run backwards in a dream.
