It’s kind of like when little kids learn a new word and try to shoehorn it in to every conversation, and end up misusing and bastardizing the word they were so excited to learn.

They then use it so much that it loses all meaning, like all the ___ist and ___phobic words people love to bandy about. Fascist and authoritarian are two others that come to mind. They’ve lost their original meanings and now just mean “something the left doesn’t like.”

Well it's not even that, it's often people throwing that label at people who do agree with them.

Any person with a platform and conservative views = "Grifter" and/or "controlled opposition"...with those accusations largely coming from other conservatives. "Anyone making money off of putting out content that I agree with must be a grifter".
