At face value, Trump is an idiot. That or he is selling ideas to idiots. That somehow Barr was 'afraid' and not part of the uniparty. Either he doesn't know or is selling this farce, either way, if this is what he's offering in 2024 - might as well go w/ Desantis.

Although Barr recently dissed Trump by saying he doesn't have self-control (and therefore shouldn't take the stand in court), Bill Barr recently bashed the indictment as legally unsound

Trump is right here. Barr said he was the man, gave his word, then backed down before the battle even began.

Few men have the guts when faced with true evil. This is difficult to predict in other men, because it’s such a tiny percentage of the population. Heroism is interrupting the status quo. It’s standing up when the odds are against you. Barr is no hero, he’s a coward, just like Trump said. Barr did the opposite of what a hero would have done.

The fallout between Barr and Trump occurred in December 2020. Trump was listening to quacks like Sidney Powell and Rudy G. Trump wanted Bill Barr and the DOJ to publicly declare that there was election fraud to the extent that the outcome of the election was illegitimate. Barr, to his credit, had the FBI and DOJ investigate all allegations of fraud, and nothing appeared: there was some fraud, like there is always some fraud in every election, but there was not fraud on a large scale that would have tipped the outcome of the election.

Hence, Barr publicly said that he and the DOJ found no evidence of large scale fraud. Trump got pissed. The two got in a heated encounter in the White House. And Barr become persona-non-grata by the MAGA group, just as Pence did

Barr was responsible for overseeing the DOJ and FBI. EVERYTHING. Hillary’s emails. Hillary’s Russia Hoax. Spygate…

Barr dropped the ball on a LOT of dem crimes, and the reason why was because of the power the Dems had and the laws they were willing to break to bring people down. He had the evidence to take down several key people in the deep state. I’m willing to bet he thought the courts would be a circus and wouldn’t be worth the effort.

I gave him a lot of leeway in that regard, but there are some problems with it -- one, this kind of tweet where he's either lying or hasn't figured out that Barr didn't hold back because he "was afraid". I don't know if he really thinks this or not, but like I said already -- either Trump does believe it, and is stupid for not realizing the truth.. Or, he is peddling this stupid idea that Republicans are all afraid and that's the only reason they hold back.

Someone needs to call out the Uniparty for what and who they are -- and either Trump doesn't get it or he's playing games here pretending.

And, also, I get that Presidents != Dictators but time and time again he kept people around that were doing nothing and would go on to backstab him. Over and over and over. So, again, I don't know what the exact details are but it's either Trump can't see the truth and just keeps stepping into dog chit or he's not really working against this swamp he called out and campaigned on draining.

Instead of the typical sock puppet, Barr was one of the few that had a good head on his shoulders that Trump should have listened to.

Republicans are afraid. Everyone is afraid.

Look at the scrutiny Trump has received, there are few in our government that are willing to upend their life just to support MAGA. Especially when they view Trump as a temporary speed bump in Politics then back to business as usual.

It's easier for most people to continue to go along with the mainstream than challenge it. That is why you'll start to see more Republicans endorse swamp candidates rather than Trump because they don't have a backbone either and are more concerned about "owning Dems" than committing to the greater existential fight we are being faced with.

Those who support Dan Crenshaw are a good example of this.

Not gonna lie, that sound pretty ghey. I'm not sure why Republicans are still so gung-ho for Trump since he doesn't care if he destroys the reputation of any and all Republicans to get what he wants. Scorched earth on the party isn't a good long term strategy to follow along.

The thought of that is the only thing about Trump that entertains me at this point. Talk about a long shot but
a) If he stays out of jail/prison
b) If he gets the GOP nomination
c) If he then wins the GE
d) If he then actually follows through with anything and was only holding back last term b/c it was his first

Lot of Ifs there and any one on it's own, other than the prison (which I think he's safe on), but every other is a major long shot.

Still, low odds of actual progress (which burning down the system and the GOP would be) are better than the status quo of slowly dying and watching this country swirl down the toilet, countries lining up to align against us, the dollar become as worthless as dust, record inflation, etc, etc...
