Is religion the biggest ever mass formation psychosis?



Also apparently according to the world there are about 5,000 gods worshiped on earth, but egomaniacs in America believe that theirs is the correct one? I respect that a fairy tale can give people a moral compass to live their life, that’s great if it helps you, not everyone needs to have fear instilled in them and threatened to be burned in a fiery pit for all of eternity to be a decent human being.
Believe what you want but just lol if you try to push your beliefs on other people

If you can convince me that your god is a thing, I’ll gladly change my mind. I do have my own higher power that I believe in but it is no man with a name.

if religion is a mass formation psychosis, I'll gladly take Christianity, Buddhism or Islam over whatever atheistic, nihilistic, soulless, lgbt psychosis we got going on right now.

people need a "religion" either way which is basically a set of principles, morals and standards as to which one believes and how they live their life.

some worship a God, some worship money, some worship "science".

Believe what you want but fear and punishment is a great motivator as well and it works. Want to murder somebody? Yes we know it is wrong from a moral perspective. But there's also the additional notion that you will go to prison for life and get turned out. When you get soft on crime you get San Francisco. We should start chopping people's hands off for stealing dedsrs. It works.

You have a point with that. Their definitely is more evil in this world now more than ever, and the “believers” are not the ones causing it. I would be all up for more people turning to it if it gives them purpose and a better life. Hope is always good. I am a realist myself though….

I've done a complete 180 in the past 5 years. As an atheist myself, after seeing the absolute damage and degeneracy that a lack of God has led America to, I believe that people in general need the fear of a higher power to act and live right.

I would gladly go back to a time where Christian man meets Christian woman, they court, get married, make their vows which are sacred to them, and raise a few kids in a stable nuclear household.

Athiesm is trash for mankind because when God was removed, it wasn't replaced by something that gave us a common belief in something greater than ourselves. The result is a lack of personal sacrifice or a sense of duty to family and community.

Meanwhile in the natural world there is order in what should be randomized chaos that points to a rule set that could point to an intelligent designer. Just the other week these "scientists" which consist of geologist f4gs with again more theories of the earth model have now discovered that there might be water inside the earth and not your usual aquifer and water table chit. Points back to the creation story and the flood. Amazing that some goat herders can get it right but these high iq scientists cant.

I was a CO for 6 years. They go to church in prison to get off the living unit and have coffee. They also can get letters of recommendations from the chaplain that go to the parole board so they can get out earlier.

I talk chit about Jesus (incel) and Mary (sloot) and believe it's all fairy tales. But humans are stoopid and need the fairy tales to not act like animals. So the real problem is humans, and many of them need religion to tell them what to do. Anything is better than atheist clown world, and everything was better when there were more Christians here.

It is a kind of psychosis but it's more complex than that.

For instance, I can learn something that's incorrect and believe it's correct. That's kind of a low level delusion BUT if I find out I'm wrong then I'm like "WOW!" and then change what I believe.

Religious stories are profoundly stupid and so why do people keep believing them?

It's because these delusional and absurd stories are told to people BY THEIR PARENTS and so that makes the brainwashing strong. If my mom told me about Jesus and she's wrong, it could mean that everything she says is wrong and my mom is an idiot.

So, you have the psychotic stories directly tied to the love and respect you have for parents, teachers, authority figures, etc.

That's why it's hard to kill religions.

With jews, they have special times of the week, meals, etc and it's all nonsensical stupidity, which means their entire family history is STUPID and so they will stick to saying their religion is true, even though it's obviously not.

In India they are trying to prove how ancient medicine could attack an elephant head onto a human body, thus creating Ganesha.

It's the same thing.

I cant and don't dare try and explain God's works. I simply don't know why a lot of things are the way the are. Clearly we were not made to be perfect. And we have free will to do whatever we want, the good and the bad. But these aren't the proofs of a lack of God like you seem to think. They are a lack of your own acceptance of whats possible and ignorance. We dont know how many other works of God exist, perhaps there are creations out there that are biologically perfect. We may have qualities that they dont. Perhaps these afflictions and imperfections were put into us to overcome.

Yes, it turns out a lot of the comparisons trying to demonstrate plagiarism are indeed fake and gay, although winter doesn't mean grass disappearing all over the world. Average December temperature in the Israel area is pretty close to 70F, it appears.

I know you mean well, but the whole "God made all kinds of obvious mistakes because he's a trickster or wants to test us" always comes off as a cop-out that can be used to explain away anything that isn't convenient (and it also makes God sound like an annoying child instead of a loving and omnipotent being). That issue is at least remedied to some extent by people who take the position that God created the universe with a purpose and then let things play out rather than claiming that God created some fully formed adult human beings a few thousand years ago and developed much of the rest of the universe as some kind of psy-op.
