went to dentist and they were annoyed i havent gotten my wisdom teeth out
they sent me for a referral about 7 years ago, saw the surgeon got a consult to have them removed. made it seem like it was emergent.
said f it not doing it. will monitor.
7 years later went today for 6 month cleaning and they're still pushing it on me. saying i may be too late given my age (low 30s brah) but still gave me another referral.
ill show up 6months later and tell them the same chit.

Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. The few hours we talked were really great even if the convo was stale, your really pretty and chill, and your country thats just perfect :'D i really dont know how to explain it, but i think i have feelings for you somehow. i never felt like this with someone i just met, but i felt the need to get it off my chest. sorry for being all weird just idk how to explain it D:

dude same chit with me. The dentist has been trying to get me to get my wisdom teeth out since I was 18.
I'm 32 now and haven't had any issues.
neither of my parent ever got theirs out.

I had mine pulled when I was 25. All four came in and looked fine I just kept accidentally biting the hell out of my cheek.
After having them pulled, my teeth moved quite a bit and I ended up in braces again for a year at age 28.

I just got mine removed recently. My advice would be the sooner you do it the better. You won’t know what issues you’ll have when you grow older and when you do end up needing to remove them when you’re 40+ your recovery time will take a lot longer and higher risk for complications so might as well do it while you’re still young. Just Fukn do it n stop being a puzzy azz bitch n stop pissing ppl off

The preemptive measure in the medical field is insane in the U.S.
They keep pushing to remove your wisdom teeth in case they get impacted but if you don't have pain , why pull them out?
I had to pull mine out because I would wake up in the middle of the night with pressure pain in my lower jaw.
Otherwise, no need to pull them out.

It can cause your teeth to shift and make them crooked, something I have noticed over the years but very slightly.
But yeah feels a bit unnecessary if I'm not having any srs problems from it. In b4 my teeth end up crooked as fuk and I have to get them removed and get adult braces.

ez money scam for dentists. i'm sure by now there is some metric where they can tell with high probability whether or not the rest of your teeth will be impacted by their removal (and NOT any other dental factor).
got mine removed cuz I got fleeced. again ez ez money vs a dentist doing 20 checkups to get the same amount of money.

Wisdom teeth should only be removed if you don’t have the space for them (cramping can cause other teeth to become damaged), or if they’re coming in at angles. A lot of people have wisdom teeth that come in diagonally. This will obviously create a ton of pressure on the rest of your mouth.
I have enough space, and they grew in parallel to the rest of my teeth so I’m good. I just make sure to floss and brush really well back there.

If you have a nice gorilla-sized mouth those teeth can come in and you will have no problems.
For most people post-Neanderthal-era, your mouth may not be big enough to accommodate them without your other teeth being pushed around, etc.
And if they never come in at all, they can become impacted and cause significant problems.
Many people think, okay, I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
That is fine. The primary problem is that the older you are, and the longer they have been in there getting impacted, you run a greater risk of facial nerve damage during removal, as the impaction process can involve nerves becoming entwined.
I had to sign a release form when I had them removed at about 30 years old. The form quoted statistics regarding the risk of facial nerve involvement/possible damage, and that risk steadily increases as you age. They were a bit annoyed that I had waited that long, as the oral surgeon prefers not to run the risk of paralyzing one of your facial muscles.
Also, not sure how it is labeled as an "upsell" by the dentist. My primary dentist does fillings, cleanings, etc., but sends patients to a specialist who handles extractions, gum issues, etc. As such, she made no money by recommending I get them pulled.
Also, not sure how good it is to count on "I'm 32 and have had no problems". That's like saying you have high blood pressure but haven't had any problems. Your sudden, unexpected future stroke will be the problem. But up to that point when you become a vegetable, you very well may have had no problems at all.

I’ve had nothing but issues with my wisdom teeth. Impacted or whatever they call it. Hurts like a bitch though as it gets infected.
But I got 3 removed in my mid 50’s , so I have no idea wtf there talking about

i had one get infected but it wasn't that bad anti biotics fixed me up quickly. Dentist suggested they should be removed but iv'e never had issues with them. Then they tried calling me and booking me in straight away i just never showed up to my booking lmao

I have all 4 but instead of them coming up like vertically, they for some reason have come in horizontally, and can't seem to pierce through the flesh

we're talking about asymptomatic wisdom teeth removal. its like let me removal my appendix because i know appendicitis can kill me. or my spleen to avoid spleen rupture. or how about my tits since I could get cancer???? how about my gallbladder since I eat a lot of fat/cholesterol and am at risk for stones??? tonsils etc.
also there have been NO systematic reviews on the risk/reward benefit of prophylactic wisdom teeth removal compared to those that never do. whats the actual risk percentage of riding out with your wisdom teeth???
