"Our Chicago stores have not been profitable since we opened the first one nearly 17 years ago - these stores lose tens of millions of dollars a year, and their annual losses nearly doubled in just the last five years. The remaining four Chicago stores continue to face the same business difficulties, but we think this decision gives us the best chance to help keep them open and serving the community."


"I think it's terrible," said Chatham customer Norma Gregory. "Target left, now Walmart is gone, we don't have anything in our community anymore."

They don't build anything, they demand businesses be built for them, which they believe that they "deserve."

Whole Foods left Englewood, it's being replaced by Save A Lot, and the natives are protesting because they "feel" like they deserve something better.

Well, let's see, these businesses were already struggling, then you shut them down, then they get looted, or destroyed during the riots, then you turn a blind eye to shoplifting, then you call them selfish when they finally close down for good???

That is a problem with high crime areas, such as parts of Chicago. They develop food deserts. Wish Chicago would do more to lower their high crime problem. With their new mayor though wanting to defund the police further, doubt that will be happening.
