Would you pay 8k to save your dog?

Friend of mines dog got hit by as car. dog is only 1 year old.

broken leg, missing/cracked teeth and something ****ed up with its stomach and needed surgery. he went ahead with it.

now hes begging online (gofundme) for money. only got 500$ out of 8k he's trying to raise.

With the logic, if someone kills your son. Just make a new one to replace them right? Good as new. (Ded fkn Srs)

I spent a lot more than that. No ragrets. But I don't let mine jump on or off things at all anymore. All it takes is one bad jump and you're paying for 2 TPLO surgeries.

Not that much effort

Animal cruelty is bad. Caring too much about animals usually means the men are so weak they're extremely evil where it counts with other people.

If i can't afford it. it would suck but i can't, I would assume that dawg is never going to be 100% either.. and it also depends on how much i spent on the dog.. if it's some mutt from a backyard breeder.. or it's a AKC dog, pure breed, i paid 1k+ than yeah maybe.

so if you spent a large amount of money on it you would spend another large amount on it? that doesnt make sense to me.

its a pure bred german shepard he paid bout 3.5k for. and spent another 8k on it... why not just get another one and try again? he could even get 2 for the price to save one.

I would spend whatever it took to save my dog. Srs lost both of mine in the last year and I’d give up anything I have (besides my kids) to have more time with them.
Spent more than 8k trying to save them and have no regrets at all. I’m also not poor and in the big scheme of life 8k is fuk all to me and my family would have no change in quality of life

my male tore his groin or something in that area running around outside after he slipped on some leaves. he cried so loud poor bb, but after a few minutes he looked/seemed fine. we called the vet since it was after hours and they said if the bone isn't out he should be ok.

the muscle atrophied a bit and he ended up recovering completely after about 12-16mo. would've been 4k to repair, and tbh if he was in pain i would've done it, but he never seemed to notice anything after a few days. he was 8 yrs old then. so yeah, i'd save a year old dog if it meant he had a good easy life from there on

Lol @ 8k. I've spent way more than that on my dogs throughout the years. The last one I got was 5k just for the puppy. I also have pet insurance now, but it averages out to the same as an expensive surgery really.

Yes. Hell, I saved/adopted 3 pups from the streets. Probably spent a lot now taking care of thrm, and they are very spoiled. Sleep inside the house, etc.

I mean 1yr is still basically a puppy and you can't really developed that kind of connection. but then again i have told my family(god forbid) i ever get terminally ill or where the medical expensives is basically going to cripple my family. let me go or fly me to a country that practices euthanasia

If I had $8k to spend (where losing $8k wouldn't be a big deal for me), then sure.

As it stands? Unfortunately, no way.
