One thing you’ve learned

What’s one thing you’ve learned that’s stuck with you for years. You can tell how you learned it but please no more than one.

Always check expiration dates no matter what any one says. Even on water bottles brahs, even water bottles.
"There is no question that belts assist in generating a few more Newton-meters (or foot-pounds) of torque in the torso through elastic recoil of a bent orso that is stiffened with a belt. However, if a neutral spine is preserved throughout the lift this effect is minimal. In other words, to obtain the maximal effect from a belt, the lifter must lift poorly and in a way that exposed the back to a much higher risk of injury!

The Life's Addition Theory, the brain must eventually come to a conclusion that life is a series of adding things up. From one focus to another focus, life is a series of added focuses. Look at your life as one straight line of addition of observations accumulating and forming into what we have as our conscious thoughts. Life is addition. The together added sums of visual focuses turned into mental focuses carried with you in your forefront thought matrix form your conclusions and perception of life. You are your thoughts. Life is perception, thoughts are perception, perception is reality ergo thoughts are reality, I think therefore I am.

So add good experiences, friends, memories, thoughts and imagination to your life and you'll be fine.

Is the official name The Life's Addition Theory? Regardless I really like this.

Most people don't want to see you do good, even your so called friends. Don't share your plans, people will steal your ideas.

I said one. I don’t like to think in these terms. If you want to go that far, you might as well say, I don’t have friends just acquaintances. Idk man you gotta be more peppy lulz😂

Everything we do should be self serving first. Other people can benefit greatly from our existence, but we should be our own primary intention.

He is right and so are you in your 'extreme' example lol.

If they were not getting something from you, some sort of satisfaction, they would not engage with you. The same with you though. This isn't a bad thing man. Don't think too much into it, just be grateful for the relationships you have and foster the chit out of them.

Understand humans are humans. You know this, because you are one yourself. We are not the greatest people 100% of the time. That is okay, we can be patient, but like artm is saying, you have to have boundaries. With every single relationship.

This is a solid one. Feels like I spent my 18-32 years in a haze of smoking weed, and being pretty complacent. Not that life was bad, its been low stress and I've been able to "Do what I want", travel a bit, etc. But lately I want more out of life. I want more from my "friends", I want more from my time (work/hobbies). So I've been trying to be much more purposeful with all my actions & decisions if that's even a word. Trying to fill my life with "good experiences, friends, memories, thoughts and imagination" as you say for sure.

All this might stem from it finally "hitting me" that time is never enough. I have 2 grandparents alive still in their 90's and one in her 80's. Thankfully my parents are alive and in good health but I think about all the change coming in the future. I can't help but always think that one day this all ends. So I want to add as much as possible while I can.

I'm also a firm believer in experiences > property. Some people say travel is stupid but it gives you a lot of things to talk about compared to people who just want to gossip about social media & tv shows and whatever the easy mainstream narrative of the day is. Also taking random days off to enjoy the beach, the city, the mountains or whatever is nice about where you live.

I'm actually becoming quite annoyed by people who just want to LDAR. So I've distanced myself from a lot of old habits/people. Time is the one worldwide currency.
Are you not entertained?

I heard something similar about tattoos. Post a photo of a potential tattoo somewhere you’ll see it everyday for 6 months. If you still like it go for it.
