You can't really compare them tbh. Both were iconic and two of the best to ever play, but Hendrix leaned more into the rock and expiremental side of things whereas SRV was more of a pure blues man.

That being said, for this song, IMO SRV manages to convey just as much if not more emotion without a single word, so for that I have to say point SRV.

P.S Little Wing was not the best instrumental in Stevie's repertoire...

They're different genres. I'd imagine Hendrix wasn't nearly the blues player SRV was. But Stevie's brother Jimmie was better than him.

Jimi changed guitar forever...the only other guy to do that was EVH.

2 guys Jimi had said were better than him...Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and Terry Kath (Chicago).

Why is it a VS? Two of the greatest guitarists ever to live. Hendrix was more raw and visceral, SRV was more melodic and smooth. Both incredible.

All that being said it's easier to cover Jimi stuff than it is SRV stuff, again imo.

This is probably my favorite SRV track to chill to.

Would have loved for SRV to cover Machine Gun.

Machine Gun by Jimi Hendrix live at Filmore East, New York/1970.
