In my experience most white people are much more racist than the misc.
Look at demographics. White people do not want black neighbors. As cities decline and blacks move to the suburbs the whites move farther out to the ex burbs.
When cities gentrify after a long decline the whites move back but only to certain blocks or areas and they try to put buffer zones in between them and the blacks. The Italian or chinese parts of town do not want integration.
