New Chess World Champion - Ding Liren

Ian has lost the championship twice now. First getting absolutely mogged by Carlsen. Then Carlsen relinquishes the title so number 1 and 2 play and Ding comes out on top. Lots of decisive games compared to super perfect moves that end in draws.

Why did Carlsen relinquished the title? Was he scared of the Bull?
