Friend said his brother just got a hair transplant for $2,500

That included flight and hotel for a day or two in Turkey . Not sure about tax and tip.

Wtf, how is that possible?

Because he went to one of the worst people. I guess if your hair looks absolutely terrible it doesn't matter, but you can pay just a bit more and get a lot better job

Seems cheap even for turkey

You can get a good transplant in turkey for 4K tho all in with flight and hotel

He probably went to a hair mill where they pump out 10 plus transplants a day with no doctor involvement, completely done by techs

friends told me recently that Turkey is Europe's go to spot for cosmetic surgical procedures.
People from all over go there for enhancements and recovery in nice hotels.

It's a lot closer than that imo

Even if it's 1.5 euro per graft that's like 2 CAD. Plus plane tickets. And you're out like 2 days from flights

You can probably get it down here for 6/graft? Not up to date with prices

But i feel better dealing with Canada than turkey. If even just for the fact that you can sue.

I forgot to add the round trip flight so an extra 1500

So 5500 USD all in for turkey

3 years ago I consulted with like 15 different clinics in turkey via WhatsApp lol and almost pulled the trigger and for a good doctor this is what I came up with on avg

I also noticed in turkey they don’t really price it by number of grafts … you just get a flat fee or ranges depending on NW level

The Turkish currency has been chitting the bed for a while now so that could be the reason the price went down in USD

No joke, I'm seriosly considering going to Turkey for a 2nd HT.

I can afford to get in the US, but I kinda want to experience doing cosmetic tourism in Turkey and South Korea...

EDIT: btw, OP, I'm not confident about that $2,500 figure... A round trip ticket from NYC to Istanbul is already $1,100.... Not sure how much hotel and accomodations would cost, but no way the procedure could be that cheap.

My hairline is ok at 33, but it's 'matured' and pushed back if that makes sense. I often think about getting a small correction and will probably pull the trigger in a few years.

I was just at the Istanbul airport two days ago. A lot of angry looking frankenscalps walking around.

Yeah last trip I saw a couple on the flight and they always look so pissed off. I'm guessing because of the pain and maybe because they don't want anyone looking at them.

Thought about it aswell but nowadays they do it here in europe where I live for about 2k for 500 to 1000 grafts.

If you have to get the whole head done its def cheaper in turkey tho.

On the lists of things I have to improve I think hair transplant is one of the last lol.
Still gotta lose about 30kg weight.

LOL, there's a joke on r/HairTransplants and r/Tressless, they call it the "Istanbul International Hairport"

I kinda want to do this procedure in Istanbul just for a memorable life experience to tell my grandkids....

what was your logic going this route instead of just doing the transplant? Seems like a pain in the ass.

I have minor thinning on the back / crown area that i've started reversing with fin and minox but honestly I kind of just want to say F it and go pay the 4k and be done with it

You mean a piece of cloth weighing practically nothing can't be put on their head for a few hours while they travel wut? Sounds like BS. with the amount of germs on an airplane too I'd rather just stay in Turkey for a couple weeks and order some escorts to pass the time
