I don't understand why video games aren't in the Olympics yet

First person shooters are a good way to measure reaction time, i'm sure the world would find pride in the top countries fps players, we should glorify people who have fast reaction times.

It's a mental sport, playing on a computer. It requires hand eye coordination. And good reaction time. I would love to see Quake or Counterstrike in the Olympics.

We need to start supporting esports more.

eSports can make stupid amounts of money depending on the game

They actually have a lot more to do with prediction than reaction time. I have an extremely fast reaction time, but I'm only "good" at shooters. There is a lot more game sense and prediction.

As a purist this strikes me as a terrible, horrible idea.

Foot races, jumping, discus throwing, javelin throwing, wrestling, the pentathlon (a combination of the previous five events), and boxing.

Y nada mas.

The Olympics is a PHYSICAL competition. Vidya games isn't physical. It's barely mental.

I rather have all countries compete with athletes that base their careers off reaction time and ability to predict things then people who can throw a javelin or polevault rofl.
