During the 2021 Census, nearly one in four people counted were — or had been — a landed immigrant or permanent resident in Canada, the largest proportion among Group of Seven economies.

By 2036, immigrants will represent almost a third of Canada’s population, compared with about 21% in 2011.

Like anyone that is born and raised in Canada, why would you stay? If your parents are not handing you a large sum of money and/or a paid off home at their death, vast majority will not make it.

Any kid under 5 in Canada at the moment, their success will be hinged upon how much money their parents/grandparents give them upon death (or if they are able to inherit a home). Scary to think about what that means.

USA is heading there as well, but we are not as bad as Canada (there are still some high growth sectors here with high paying jobs that allow people to " make it", also we have a far more diversified economy and much more favorable salary to housing ratio)

look up housing to salary ratios. Canada has pretty low wages and extremely high housing. importing all these educated ****** makes it worse.

USA immigrants are all poor and dont screw too much with normal middle class cost of living (as much at least). they are not competing to buy a home with you. they do however strain public services but I'd much rather be dealing with our immigration issues than Canada's

Canada immigrants are competing with middle class to upper middle class canadians for homes, and they are bringing cash with them, taking your skilled jobs, AND living 3-4 working adults to one home to outbid whatever you are able to pay.

they are phucked (srs).

Homes are not hard to build. The problem is why are they coming into another country by the drove. Who is letting them in. It use be that you had to be at war in order to let refugees in. I don’t recall the ****** being at war with anyone

Lots of people really struggling and there isn't a lot of bright future.

Hoping that when the new government comes in - because no way will Liberals win again - they will reverse course at least on immigration.

I live in Canada, Nova Scotia which is one of the poorer provinces, and I can say there is nothing here, there's no money to be had, I've known people who moved to Alberta and made twice the money doing the same thing as they do/did in Nova Scotia.

well most voters are homeowners, and most people are naturally 'selfish' (self interested), so one man's "housing/cost of living inflation" is another man's "equity gains".

no one really cares if the next generation can't afford it, if it's sustainable, if you gotta import millions of immigrants to keep the number going up etc. fukk you, i got mine. long as my equity goes up.

Meh I wouldn’t mind people coming to Alberta but I already own two houses here and would benefit from the equity growth

But don’t think anyone should be hoping for ridiculous price increases like we’ve seen in Ontario and BC, home ownership should be accessible to everyone

Wrong.

I love the daft American trying to weigh in. But if you had the slightest idea of what you were talking about, You would know East Indians passionately hate immigrants, And Trudeau.

Time to accept it. Whites are a defeated race.

Hilarious that whites will be a minority in every single country in the world in our lifetime and they never even had to fire a single bullet. They just walked in like they owned the place, and now they do.
