Why don't people think their personal privacy is more important than learning they are related to their ancestors?
I would never do one of these kits.
I would never do one of these kits.

I have the impression this is "just cool to know", without any tangible consequence.
Also, I do not subscribe to the whole "well the damage is done, so why not participate" idea.
I mean, what is a good reason for an individual to do it? Something that is worth the money, and the forfeiture of certain aspects of privacy.
Outliers can be fun to talk about, but I am much more interested in the average experience. Which I assume is simply there is nothing to gain here.

for research purposes here are some articles (you can find more on reddit as well)
husband divorces wife after finding out 15 year old daughter is not his:https://www.theatlantic.com/science/...ivorce/571684/
there are also loads of people finding out they have half sibling especially while their parents are still married. wouldn't you like to know if your lover is keeping something like that from you?:https://nypost.com/2022/01/21/i-foun...tree-dna-test/
there have been two instances of people finding out they are half siblings and while not as shocking there have been many more times of people finding out they married a first or half first cousin:https://people.com/human-interest/hu...sins-dna-test/
these are some examples of DNA having an "impact" on peoples lives, because what matters Ironmanlet is the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
finally if that hasn't convinced you keep in mind there are people desperately looking to connect one of my cousins ahs been waiting for one of her two irish sisters to take the test as she has never met them. Im part of a ******** group of very bitter adults (over 18k) I try to council everyweek who tell me if they knew they had a different father growing up things would have been so different, how the men they thought was their father treated them terribly and hardly if ever provided any kind of support and walked out on them. People like us missed a chance at meeting our siblings and grandparents, and being aided in some kind of way through life, there are many examples of this but this is the one I will use to end this reply:https://nypost.com/2022/12/10/woman-...try.com%20test.
