Don't. Go ahead and walk with that weight for miles, but don't run with it. The only time I'd say run is up a short incline since your steps will be shortened anyway, then go back to walking. Especially don't run with weight attached down a decline; holy fuk that's bad.
Yeah Buddyyy! Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

Wear some well broken in hiking boots bro because you're getting ready to turn your feet into hamburger. And for fux sake don't run unless you want to destroy your knees. 50lbs is no joke either unless you're already built up to it.. I'd say back it down to 25 if you're not.

Ever been in a military? Rucking is legit, but you need to be smart about it.
It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Understood.

Thing is though if you're not used to it your knees will feel like its a 7min mile. Like I said, rucking is legit AF but you have to be smart..

Here, follow Gritty Soldier. He's a Captain in the Army and is a fitness freak. 12 miles in two hours.

Running is a bad idea. Long stride, fast walk. You shouldn’t double your weight either, increase like 10 lbs a week

Took it slow ran it in 12 minutes half mile uphill, half mile downhill.

Pretty easy I could have gone faster. Or gone farther. Next goal is a 5k with 50lbs backpack.

Knees felt great zero pain. 1/10 twinge in left foot halfway through that went away.

I don't think anyone over 180lbs should be running, the knees can't take it.
when you think about it...joint health and blood flow (heart/circulation) are LIFE. look at pro athletes...best healthcare and training but them joints can only take so much mileage.

i'm becoming more and more a fan of what I call "casual" fitness combined with maintaining a somewhat slim body weight like 160-180 lbs. weight and fitness that be sustained for life.

don't think i'll ever do running at any body weight...i like stuff that's lower impact on joints. go walk trails, play around in a pool, bike, kayak...crap like that.

Good job boyo. Nothing like getting into big weight in your ruck, and bossing it. You’ll be there soon. As you get heavier how you secure the load and ruck placement on your back becomes ever so critical. The tiniest rub becomes a huge pain when you’re done, I got gouges on my hips from last week to prove it

You do you, boo.

Even heavy runners pay the pied piper eventually.

It does feel good to accomplish tough chit. Builds character. I mtn ride, and break bones, shoulder health in the trash, but still push it.
