If you are reading this, you are a genetic lottery winner.
If you are reading this, you are a genetic lottery winner.
Out of the many billions of people born, you were born into the highest standard of living in history.
We eat better than kings of the past and have conveniences previous generations could not fathom. Your phone is more powerful than all the computing power in the WORLD 60 years ago.
Here's the point: One of the most defining questions of our lives is where we focus our thoughts.
Will we fixate on the areas in our lives that fall short of our desires? Will we be consumed with comparison and entitlement?
Or will we cultivate thankfulness for what we have? If you are reading this sentence, remember that 99.9% of all the people who have ever lived would trade places with you if they could.
We believe that our happiness is always a result of our circumstances. We look at what we don't have and tell ourselves stories about how we would be content if we just had x. It's a lie.
The reality is there will always be someone that has more, and if you look for it there will always be a reason to feel dissatisfied. Thankfulness and contentment aren't about our circumstances, they are an attitude that we choose.

Every person that ever existed could say that. Back in 1900 they had advanced more than anyone prior to their existence too. Obviously compared to us we've advanced further, but at that point in time they had it better than 99.9% of humans that ever existed. They too had the highest standard of living in history at that point.
So what's your point? Because every human is able to claim this with the logic you presented.
For a minute I thought you would be going another direction. Most of us born into first world countries actually did hit the genetic lottery relative to being born in some third world sh*t hole. Instead you start talking about having it better than generations before us..... well duh on that one bro...
