the problem with mixing pve and pvp and having an 'extraction shooter' is people like me who just want to pvp


these guys prob spend a good hour or more farming NPC bosses in the dark zone of the division

and then in 10 seconds i undo all of their grinding, like a snake in the grass, with my overpowered sticky bomb build specifically made for ganking extractions just like this

i really miss the division. such a lawless online gaming experience

I was an absolute bastard in that game. But that was the nature of the beast. My builds in that game were insane because the best loot always came from the darkzone and that's all I ever did was pvp in darkzone.

Wtf is an extraction shooter?

Games like escape from tarkov.

It's like battle royal, but you have to extract with your loot rather then simply getting it when you pick it up.

It was nerve racking in the division. You could farm for days and then you finally get that God roll stat on some armor or a gun, so you have to play on knowing if you die you lose it.

Do you like it?

I think it makes for a pretty adrenaline fueled experience sometimes. I don't like how tarkov does it. People can hide and camp and just ruin the experience for you way too easily. The division handled it much better and made it less of a grief filled experience, though it still is.

It will get your heart thumping knowing you have a god roll item and have to avoid other players to extract it. When you call an extraction, everyone on the map is alerted and it takes 90 seconds to come in and then I think 60 before it leaves. An extraction is public and has 4 slots to load your loot, so other players can also steal your slot on the extraction rope even if they don't try to steal your loot directly. People can also cut the rope and drop all the loot onto the floor, which will turn them rogue.

In division when you pvp on someone, you turn rogue and get a rogue timer. A rogue can be seen by everyone in the immediate area, and has a bounty that gives whoever kills them extra xp and money. If you kill enough as a rogue, you turn into a manhunt, and everyone in the server can see you at all times, and the reward for killing a manhunt is much bigger.


The division didn't execute everything perfectly and had many issues with balance and pvp/pve... But the idea of the darkzone was brilliant.

PS. The darkzone is a special part of the map where pvp and pve mixes. You'd have a separate darkzone level. The rest of the map is just pve. The best and highest tier loot was always in the darkzone.

Not sure if srs lol. Enemies just congregated in one open spot for an easy missile. Seems more like a lucky shot against some low rank plebs.

Oh I got more dawg. this was just a simple extraction gank, not much pvp involved cause I ratted on these guys big time. I cut out 2 minutes of me running around avoiding them so I could get them right as they tried to put their loot on the extraction rope. I also cut out the end where they all respawn and chase me down and kill me and teabag me lmao

I gotta cut alot of this footage down but I I'll get some more uploaded later, lots of 1v4s and crazy builds. I really have a ton of footage from this game.

heres one with a broken ass pistol build i made, and people actually shooting back

division devs made an armor set that was meant for snipers, it would give a 15% headshot damage buff for every headshot you hit, stackable 3x for 45 percent extra headshot damage.

the problem? i found out that it worked with pistols also. the other problem? if you paired it with a pistol riot shield build, that also added a huge damage buff to your pistols base damage. got myself a god tier pistol roll on top of that and it made for a pretty insane build.

at 1:25 in the video i do so much damage the guy doesn't even go into a downed state, he just insta dies.
