Back pain, numb heels, feeling demotivated to lift
Ever since i moved house and hurt my back carrying some heavy boxes about 6 years ago i've had numb heels, it didn't really bother me and only noticeable now and again. Doc back then was useless and just argued with me that they weren't numb and he doesn't know what's wrong but i don't need to worry.
Recently i started lifting weights for the first time in a very long time, after deadlifts my back would feel so tight the next few days and the odd not to bad pain / ache. Now i've noticed my heels are feeling number, particularly at night with pins and needles. Went to the doc again and he reckons it's a trapped nerve, maybe a slipped disc but there's basically nothing that can be done unless i was in a lot of pain then i could have risky surgery. Didn't even examine me. Haven't lifted this week and just feel completely demotivated, it's like every time i try and improve myself something goes wrong. Worried now if i lift it could make it worse or something could go pop.
Anyone else had any experience with this?

Does sound like nerve damage
Maybe do some yoga to try and mitigate the issue
I wouldn't give up the weights, just stretch chitloads and train light for now, ditch the deads until you strengthen your posterior chain
Good luck
