If Reddit dies, could we see the resurgence of message boards?

This would be great I think. Every Reddit alternative that I'm aware of is just "freedom of speech" platforms full of middle-aged right wingers that can't wait to drop the n-bomb. I'm one of the people that got IP banned from Reddit. A large community like that can't work. They'll always fall under for-profit companies that want to censor people. Most boards are always just a for fun thing. I still post on the same Juggalo message board I have for 20 years. Everyone has since outgrown the Juggalo stuff. It's more of a former Juggalo board now. There's only like 20 of us left. Could people just suddenly start logging back in?

Reddit will eventually die. It is already going downhill due to the amount of biased information posted.

I have personally re-joined many message boards so I can get legit good advice on stuff. Reddit has been filled with absolutely trash info the past 5 years that is provided by lib-cucks and kids that don't know shyt about what they are talking.

Reddit isn't going to die. It's far too valuable of a propaganda outlet. That's like suggesting that CNN would die because the ratings are bad.

Reddit's current issues are with their mods (who are, like all mods, fahgots) who created and "own" the subreddits. If those mods don't decide to bring them back up, the admins can just assign new mods who will do what they're told (for free).

I wonder if those reddit neckbeard mods realise that shutting down their subs will just piss people off and they'll no longer have anyone to censor the opinions of. Pretty fking stupid to ruin the one thing that they have in their life.

I've been looking around at other boards. The incels and constant thirst trap posts make misc exhausting. There's very few actually interesting posts.

Reddit killed the forum. Reddit showed us that most people are lazy and like convenience the reason why every person who used to post on forums joined reddit is for convenience ONE SCREEN NAME, ONE PASSCODE, Multiple forums or subreddits of different topics, in one website and that is why forums died

if there was no reddit forums would still be popping, but why would you join multiple forums when you can post on a bodybuilding forum, nutrition forum, NBA, NFL, car forum on Reddit instead of different websites.

I never liked reddit becuase you cannot bump a post, it has to be upvoted, so if you make a post and nobody answers question you are screwed and will have to make another one until someone answers you cant reply to get answers

its all done for likes and its been proven that likes has people obsessed with Reddit they post there for likes.

I'm the opposite. I hate that boards don't have a downvote option. I'd love to be able to downvote that fukking Gawd spam off the board that gets posted every day.

Reddit has been driving people off for years. In the early days it was actually a very good idea with lots of good information. It was always slightly liberal biased, but discussions actually involved back and forth exchanges. Now they have slowly eroded into heavy liberal bias in which you are rewarded with meaningless karma and cheering if you bad mouth those you disagree with.

For example of how bad it has gotten. On askreddit someone asked if anyone still supports Trump. I posted that I liked his economic policies and would probably vote for him again. Someone replied, "he is a criminal." to which I replied, "Uh huh, sure."

The above got me a permanent ban on askreddit. When I asked why, the mod stated rule 10 which is labelled "dangerous misinformation". It was the rule they instituted so people wouldn't bad mouth the vaccine.

Now I just moved on to other forums to have discussions. Oddly misc is actually one of the few left with some semblance of back and forth. I think it has gone under the radar of woke activist.

No, the youth doesn't have the attention span required to be active on message boards. They waste their time on dumb chit like tiktok. If they ever leave some kind of comment they don't do it to get a discussion, they just do it to try and get likes. It's super pathetic.

This whole upvoting and downvoting thing is what brings all these lil ****ggots to reddit. Whenever I check out a specific sub for a video game the most popular posts are almost the dumb low effort memes. Every single time for every single video game sub I've ever been to. Sometimes there's intelligent discussion, but it's rare.

Downvoting is retarded. Sorry, but there's no nicer way to put it.

The only reason I posted on reddit is for answers, and that bugs me. I used to post in the Business or entrepreneur section but then these guys boasting about how they made money to brag threads got bumped and I couldn't get answers on specific drop shipping question because it got bumped down for these click bait clout chasing threads to boast.

and when id ask in a thread they would say make another post dont ask in here lol

Its all about clout chasing likes there.

Upvotes and downvotes wouldn't be needed if mods did their actual jobs, and stopped worrying about censoring stuff.

As much as I like the openness of the misc, we cannot compete with reddit simply because the layout of this forum isn't designed to compete with reddit. Reddit crushes the misc in terms of information and topics covered.

The power-hungry mods from reddit are leftist morons and they are the ones destroying the site. There is no viable option to reddit. Someone would have to build a reddit competitor and build it up and not let incels living in their single mother's basement to ruin it.
