Yes this is one of the major reasons I won't buy Nintendo stuff even aside from my lack of interest in kids games.

I remember all the drama from the fighting game community over smash bros and nentendo being completely rotten about smash bros competitive.

They are genuinely a chit company with no regard for their fans. Surprised so many people still blindly support them tbh, but I guess most parents buy games for their kids don't care about that.

In fairness this video mostly covers people were kind of doing things wrong to Nintendo lol
