Why is it called Juneteenth instead of June 19th?

What’s the background here? Is it just the laziness of having to pronounce two words?

So would July 4 be JooFouf? Or new year would be jah firs?

Why would someone do this?

Also cliffs of what we are celebrating. How come everything is a holiday these days? Pride month? St. Patrick’s Day? Black History Month? Cinco de Mayo whatever that is? Presidents’ Day, Columbus Day, children’s day! Earth day, how come every retard gets a day or a month now?

You seem triggered, relax it’s just a quirky way of saying June Nineteenth. And there’s nothing wrong with folks celebrating things they enjoy and support.

Also: On June 19, 1865, Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger led the Union Soldiers to Galveston, TX, to announce the end of the war and the freedom of all enslaved people.

FYI, today is national bourbon day.

-Case in point of white people feeling entitled to inclusion
-White history is literally ingrained into the American education and law systems
-This is a cop out, you're just triggered "cuz black"

You don't need to. It's clear by your replies that you share OP's sentiments.

I always knew Juneteenth as a Texas holiday growing up. Kind of odd that it's a national holiday now. I like to look at is as the rest of the country having to celebrate our holiday. Another win for Texas over California, New York, and other Democrat states.

So why isn't it Emancipation Day or something. Freedom Day? End of Slavery Day?

Juneteenth sounds extremely uneducated.

What are you crying about buddy. It's so pathetic being the dominant race/gender in the land of opportunity and being such a bitch. But it is to be expected online. All the truly based white guys are actually making the most of their opportunity IRL. While you grovel over the dumbest chit in the world. I'm straight to and don't give a damn if I have a month or not.

You say blacks are appreciated as if we can't go anywhere online without seeing whites complain about us. Or blame us for your own white Dem buddies pushing all this pandering. Its hilarious when you guys say chit like this when like 75% of people I talk to complain about the 44 different months and genders we have. The most ironic thing is how hard you're begging to be a victim like the very people you complain about. Wish they'd put all you idiots in some kind of mass therapy session to get to the bottom of why you get off on that. Chit is pathetic.

Inb4 some unrelated whataboutism instead of taking accountability for being a baby-backed bitch. Sick of men acting like this. Even if it's just online that chit is trash and unacceptable.
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; and if it is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.

But it wasn't the end of slavery. The Emancipation Proclamation explicitly applied only to the Confederacy. States like Delaware still had slavery right up until the 13th amendment was ratified.
