Anyone have a WFH job where they do absolutely nothing?

This morning I woke up at 9.30, dossed around for 30 mins then finally logged on to my work laptop.

Did 30 mins of actual work before dossing again until lunch time. Took a 2 and half hour lunch break then clocked off at 4

Most of my days are like this lol. Basically NEET but without the tragic aspect

I used to have a full time WFH job where I did maybe 10-15 hours of actual work per week. The rest was spent doing whatever I wanted. It was the best man (ded fkin srs).

Sadly I had to quit because they refused to give me a raise during Covid and then when inflation was officially at 9% (but unofficially around 20%) they offered me a 2.9% raise. That was a huge fuk you. I went from comfortable when I started working there to dead broke and eventually dipping into my savings every pay period. So I left. Now I’m in office and it blows cawk. Weekdays suck now.

Depends where you work. Most places you'll be assigned tickets and as long as you complete them on time and bug free, then no one really gives a fukk what hours you do or dont work

Ehhh...I WFH 4 days a week. Sometimes I slack epicly, other days I work quite a bit.

I hate people being on my ass (and I buy shyt for the military so...people pestering you about "this part is urgently needed, please provide an update/expedite!" when you have a mountain of Bull Shyt and red tape to navigate to possibly procure that thing), so I try to do enough work in an attempt to minimize that but...

Yeah especially when they insist they can continue WFH which means their job can be outsourced overseas for a fraction of the cost lol.

WFH actually saves employers money, so ofc they're in no rush to get people back to the office if productivity is more or less the same as pre covid

In any case, outsourcing to chitty countries gets the exact result one might expect... chit

I'm Australian, so can only really comment as to what is happening here. But slowly companies are starting to expect staff to return to the office. CBA (Commonwealth Bank of Australia) a big one in recent weeks. Saving money on resources (office space, office consumables ect) will come to in to play, but when those savings are outweighed by lack of productivity from people WFH companies aren't going to wear that cost. Staff will either be told to return to the office or simply have their jobs outsourced to save money. It's happening slowly now, it will happen more in the future. But insisting your job is easily doable from home is basically telling your employer that your job can easily be done overseas.

This is 100% why I started stacking full time jobs and now make $600k/yr. Not gonna do this forever, will eventually cut back to 1 job like you have OP and chill enjoying all my wealth.

So many people cool with just the 1 job meeting the bare minimum society expects out of them taking 2 hour naps every day instead of running with the opportunity to really elevate themselves. At the end of your life when you're wondering why large sums of money never fell in your lap remember you were too busy napping 2 hours every day.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

This. I put in like 10, maybe 15 hours a week. I have nothing on my calendar today, am 2 hours into work and have not yet done anything except read one email that was two lines long. occasionally I actually have full working days.

Past year my schedule has been as follows:

Wake up at 9AM, check stock market, turn on work laptop's mouse jiggler
Go back to sleep until 11AM
Hit the gym, be back around 12:30
Shower, get dressed, have lunch, be back on work laptop by 1:30
Watch movies or play video games the rest of the day

I've probably done two weeks of actual work since I joined this company

It's not fun. Feels like rotting.

It gets the exact result you or I would expect, but management never learns. Despite the huge number of companies exporting jobs, getting chit results, and finally bringing them back, there's always someone else that only sees $ and thinks they're different.
