I don't know what white middle class families you are talking about because there are none like that I know of. You are describing angry lower middle class white families and angry working class white families pretty correctly though, in my experience. Those are the families I know that actually kicked out male children at 18 and in some cases sooner.

-kicks kids out at 18 and/or charges rent (meanwhile smart parents i.e. asians and others are letting kids stay for FREE and accumulating wealth so that they can save up for a downpayment while their peers pay 2k a month in rent).

-owns tons of random expensive suburban power tools/big trucks/jet skis etc but doesnt have a great retirement account and refuses to pay for their childrens college so kids are forced to go into debt for school

-lots of self deprecating jokes growing up about "finally getting the kids out of house so they can enjoy retirement"

-extremely stingy with cash/helping kids (buying furniture for them, helping them buy their first car

-took their kids to olive garden and cooked them lots of generally unhealthy processed food growing up (mac n cheese etc) / meanwhile asian parents are buying produce from the market and making healthy lean fresh meals from birth for kids (and packing them lean lunches)


sometimes wish I had asian parents growing up srs. they basically do everything possible to ensure you are set up for life. white boomer parents just make you do it all on your own and then brag to their friends afterwards if you succeed.

These days you have to be asian to get that kind of start in life.
