My first was also the first I ever helped cheat, on the next guy she dated after me. I didn't know at the time she had broken up with me because she cheated on me with another guy awhile before. I found that out later.

A word of advice to your sons, don't date prom queens or homecoming queens. They're trouble. I dated two, and my ex wife was one.

Every 4 to 8 years she emails me, usually she's at some kind of life crossroads and is fishing for some direction on which way to go. I don't tell her but I usually ask her a question where her answer will give her a direction or I'll point out that she does not actually have to make a complete choice between the 2 if that's appropriate.

I never find out which way she decides and I don't why she does it, I guess that I help but maybe my dumb ass philosophy reassures her she made the right choice 27 years ago (she did). She is many many times more successful in life than me and married with a beautiful family (as am I). I will always love and care for her and want her to be as happy as she can be.

Nope. It was my high school bf that I was with for 4 years. We broke up when we were 20 and I only ever saw him a few times after that. Once ran into him in a store in later 20's and that's the last I ever saw him. He died a few years ago.
