They insist on arriving at the job at the asscrack of dawn. They KNOW people are sleeping. I don't understand the importance of starting a job at 8am when the rest of the world starts work at 9am, earliest. They must go to bed at 8pm.

I know heaps of tradies

They all get off work 3-4pm, drive home, drink around 10 cans of beer till like 9pm and pass out. Since they’re out at 9pm they’re up at like 4am cause they need to be at the job site by like 5am to 6am to start.

I also like how they work on major highways during rush hour

and they chit in your yard

It's usually the customer who insists on timing. "Oh noes we can't have customers know that our machines are actually being maintained." Which I can understand when I pull apart a filthy machine that's facing their customers lol.

Who knows what they will pull this time since we will be gone for 2 weeks while they work on our house. Different people though so we'll see. Prob take a chit in my wall and drywall it up.

I'm really pissed. I have to get up at 7am to be ready for them, then when I go lie down on the couch I have to worry about them texting me with questions. Pure torture. I basically can't relax until they leave.

I love banging on people's doors at 7:30 in the morning to tell them their gas is getting shut off soon. Or if I have to respond to a gas leak in the middle of the night, waking the home owners up to let them know their gas meter is leaking. If I get called out in the middle of the night because your chits fukked up, your gonna be awake too...

The worst is when contractors call in emergency locates in the middle of the night because they forgot to call in locates during the day... I will always call them and make them meet me on site to show me where they will be digging. And if they don't I report them for abusing the emergency system. Puts a stop to that nonsense real quick.

8am is far from the asscrack of dawn. I think tradies are the only ones who still get overtime pay besides some people in healthcare and government jobs. If they're working past 3-4pm they're on OT with hours of daylight to spare. I'm not a tradie but hey good for them.

OP you complain about people mowing their lawns before 10am on weekends, don't you?
