Moving to *****? Srs

Anybody ever done a stint there?

I have an opportunity to like 3x my salary. Rent and health insurance paid for.

I know there are cons, but upping my savings that much would be huge. Buy a rental property almost fully paid every 2 years. Do that for 10 years and im set up.
On top of that I hear only positive things about raising kids there - as that is on the horizon in the next 2 years or so.
And Im still close to Europe which is ideal for me.

I know its a 10-15 year stint with no particular root setting, but im not bothered with that as I have great passports already etc.

Ive been to visit, and was impressed by how ‘western it is’.
Chit could always hit the fan, but all things considered that is where the money is and will continue to be for a while.

Doha was also on the cards but I feel its 5-10 years behind and would get boring quick.

The potential of doing 20 years in like 7 is quite tempting.


Anybody have any experiences or thoughts?

Sounds like govt contract work? If you have nothing holding you back then go for it. Might get a little hot in the summer and boring/lonely but if you're a homebody anyway, that won't be an issue.

Havent lived there but been there at least a dozen times.

There are two societies there, the locals and the workers.

You will basically be clumped in to the workers group. The locals dont do anything but walk around and shop and such, You hardly interact with them.

its nice but outside of hotels, restaurants and boats, not much really going on.

Its like its fake and has no soul. Sure, you can build a lavish building but why do you need to? Just to do it is why seems to be their thinking. If you compare it to a place like Vegas or New York there simply is no comparison. Those places have endless cool things to do.

***** doesnt, sure, it has the buildings and such but they dont take the time to think through adding all the stuff regular people might like to do. That stuff is an after thought.

Essentially im not interested of any of that chit tbh.

I want to set myself up basically because as a doctor in the UK its still slave life (sad reality). To match the package being offered there id need to make 350k in the UK before tax which aint happening.

Also like I mentioned I want to raise a family in the next few years. Childcare and overall raising children there till teens is quite good i head if school etc is paid for. Plus they dont grow up in degen woke world.

Naturally im skeptical of the things we all take granted for here in the western world, like if I get sick or need an operation, would work be ruthless to me or give me time off and support etc.

At the end of the day im probably being pranoid, lots of people live there normally. But I want no stone unturned because I am not going to be there alone, but with a wife and kids soon.

Lol at the hate. It's an ultra-clean world leading city with next to no crime plus zero tax. Nowhere in the West can compete imo.

There are some negatives though noting the extreme heat, the wealth required to live well and some of the laws are also batsh*t.

I would be going with a clear plan - to get bank and buy properties back in the UK, and to raise a few kids in a place where its quite suitable for kids they say. 10-15 year stint.
Im aware of the cons, but the money id make would mitigate that hopefully?
