Leaving NYC

Been here in UES for almost a year. Paying about $3k for a habitable studio. Losing a lot of money to taxes.

Not quite sure where I want to move. Everywhere else seems like a downgrade in terms of social opportunities.

Chicago would be nice but weather is chit half the year and the crime is ridiculous now. Boston I've heard is like a college town. Florida is hot. Texas is big and too spread out. Cali is a chithole.

What options are there? Should I just move to Brooklyn or Astoria to save money on rent?

If taxes are your concern then move to Hoboken or Nj since no city taxes

Sounds like you can't afford to stay in NYC... Brooklyn isn't any better bud.

Pittsburgh? Providence? Manchester (NH has no state/sales tax)?
