I thought about going for 5 days rest, while doing light band work this time around.

A couple years back I had hip adductor tendinitis on both sides and neither resting nor stretching improved it. Lasted for a month. Only thing that helped was a stiff foam roller and literally rolling the hell out of where they insert into your pelvis.
Since you won’t be foam-rolling your forearm, you can get a stainless steel tool like a butter knife with a rounded handle, wrap the blade in tape, and use regular moisturizing lotion for lubricant, and use the handle to literally dig into the most sore area going perpendicular to the direction the fibers run. Even parallel to the fibers too.
Don’t overdo it.
