My offices HR lady asked why I didn't attend the monthly diversity lunch and learn

We usually have these types of lunch and learns once or twice a month. The one before this one was about trannies. I haven’t attended these since I started at this company in January but people are starting to catch on. Its a big corporation, is this something that I can get in trouble for and does anyone actually recommend that I start attending these?

She got me as I was heading to the restroom. Told her I was preparing for a presentation and got the fuk out of there

Salaried so doesn't matter pay-wise. I don't know if its mandatory but most of the office attends except a couple other based coworkers

if you're scared you'll get in trouble just say "because I have work to do"

If you think it's not mandatory and the dumb kunts in HR need to fist themselves, just say "Yeah.... nah. Fuk that"

I've been skipping all the DEI dog**** at my employer and nobody has said a word. When they send out meeting invites for it they use pressuring language as if it's mandatory, but they never once say it IS mandatory.

I identify as an absent person. Either that or don't answer her. If you want to get really spicy say you had a medical condition and if she asks what it is, get a lawyer srs. They want to play these games, play hardball.

Iam a tradie so iam just asking this to try and understand, what would be the problem with asking them “is this mandatory”? Or would asking a question like this ruin your social cred with all the cubicle dwellers?

I used to have to do mandatory sales classes/meetings before I started my own thing and even that was cringey no way in hell could I do a diversity meeting.

Then you should be good. You probably should make friends with those co-workers just in case.

I could probably ask if its mandatory. I honestly just planned on seeing if I would be called out on it which didn’t happen until today. Would definitely not go over well with a lot of coworkers if I asked but not really concerned about that

Just say you have conflicts
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Tell them that your digestive system has a very specific schedule and that unless they want to have ThunderPants write about them soon, they should just leave you be because you have a more important meeting at that time.

I wonder if they take attendance? If not, how would she have even known? (unless you work for a very small company).

Most in the corporate world have to go through monthly diversity trainings on how to use the person’s preferred pronouns

Tell them you’re not interested in critical gay theory , and would rather spend your time doing something more productive like watching movies like the Sound of Freedom.
Let us know how that works out for you

Wagie, eat the food we give you and watch this presentation about what a bigot you are.

Tell them to "send me the slides." That's what I did when I was a cubcel...
