Do you remember when you first discovered Youtube?

and what video you searched or stumbled upon?

I remember my senior year 2005-2006 my high school soccer coach told the team there's this website called Youtube you can look up cool soccer highlights.

So I went home, and watched a bunch of Ronaldinho highlights, and Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona etc.

Then I moved on to Michael Jordan and the Bulls. At first I thought it was just a website with sports highlights, but I randomly typed in high school fights.

The first video I ever watched that was non sports related was a high school fight in like 240p lol.


I kinda miss the infancy of Youtube before all the ads...of course its way better now since you can look up pretty much anything music wise or movie scene wise, but back then it was cool to see people randomly started uploading their own videos.

Yeah I remember finding this channel called TheAmazingAtheist back in like 2008. It was actually funny af and insightful at times, and interesting political insight/humor.

Look at it today, and it's pure trash. Dude went full leftist loony toons character. Literally, he dressed and acts like some messed up clown, it's weird.

Used to watch parkour and football (soccer) freestyle vids back in the day on Google video, sometimes they'd link to YouTube so I guess they were the first ones I saw then Google bought YouTube.

yea but youtube is far more restricted now. can't even make amildlyinsulting comment without getting a fukin warning and potential mute. can't post certain truther videos either. they did away with the channel comments too. my account is from October 18, 2006 and I've never changed the name.

Yeah first discovered YouTube when I was staying at my grandparents place in 2011 when I was like 8. It was when I was just getting into tennis and the Australian open just ended and I was looking at highlights from the matches there. I believe this was the first, or one of the first videos I ever watched:

I remember when it launched.

Knew the founders previously from diagnostic work my company did with PayPal and eBay.

It is amazing how much obscure stuff they have out there, including old broadcast TV stuff from when I was a kid.

It is hard to get your head around how much video gets added on a daily basis.
