Is trying to start a side business worth the risk in this current economy?
This may be a generic question, perhaps some pointers or experience from brahs that are currently self-employed? Thanks

Yes. This is actually the best time to start a business. No competition.
The last 12 months have flushed all of my competition away, so although the pie is much smaller, I'm getting a much larger chunk of it. And I don't have to deal with these other fuks undercutting me and causing me to waste time chasing deals that don't amount to anything.

"Side businesses" don't work.
I explain this to people all the time.
A successful business is "worth it" when it beats an average of 10% returns on investment, as that's the general market behavior.
So anything less than that and you're wasting your time and energy when you could just put it into the stock market and put 0 amount of effort into it
Anything more than 10% and you're wasting your opportunity cost by not doing it as your main source of income 100%. If you can beat 10%, you should put everything you can into it to maximize That return.
Side businesses are a dumb as f*ck idea.

Depends on what business, which market, and what are the barriers to entry.
The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.
