RIP in pepperoni Chase Bank

Chase bank has been having all kinds of issues for the past ~6 hours. Barely anything is being reported. Those affected aren't able to transfer money, use their credit cards, deposit checks, etc.

Technical difficulties.

FWIW I've seen ongoing reports that Chase is in trouble.

This is from 3 weeks ago.

Probably a cyberattack of the bank itself or their cloud provider, quite common when you're literally the largest bank in the country.

Chase is fine, fraud happens every day and is extremely uncommon considering the number of customers and transactions a bank like Chase has. A customer losing 30k and being told by the bank "no" due to some mismanagement is hardly the last word. Appealing to regulators, going public or seeking legal counsel are all recourse.

Chase is JP Morgan, the largest bank in the US. 3 trillion under management. If they go down we all go down.

Yep. Peppridge farm remembers when the lefty 0bama bailed out banks, car manufacturers and many other big businesses, yet lefties love to scream that righties give handouts to big businesses. Fact: all parties are in bed with big business and will spend your money to bail out their elite friends.

Our particular form of bailouts. Have the taxpayers pay for the bailout without transferring any of their ownership to the taxpayers. In a remotely sane society, if the public saves your chitty company that failed as a result of bad decisions and excessive risk-taking, the public gets a piece (if not all) of your company. Ugh, wait can't let them fail like capitalism parrots endlessly because then it would blow up the economy. So we save them, and no one goes to jail and the ownership is still intact? What?

America is truly cucked to corporations.

Probably hacked and they are figuring out how to pay a ransom in secret
These money transfers from individual accounts would probably go through even if chase has zero money
Money is not even real with modern banking

In 2008 the "too big to fail" should have each been chopped up into 3 to 5 companies and there should have been some management facing loss of licensure/banned from industry if not criminal charges.

But no. Instead we let them get even bigger and kept utility style customer accounts tied to speculative banking entities instead of re-instating Glass-Steagall and making banks choose to either be consumer banks covered by the FDIC and the OCC OR investment banks.
