What should I look for in a telescope?

So, wanna buy one.

What should I look for? Any advice?

What do you want to do with it?

I have a Meade ACF-SC 203/2000 8" UHTC LXD-75 OTA with an autotracking equitorial mount. The only thing I would change would be to upgrade to a mount that self-aligns since it would be a time saver and would be more accurate for tracking.



I've been able to get pictures of saturn's rings and jupiters moons with it. Unless you want to get into astrophotography you probably don't need to spent over $500 for a decent telescope.

Nah, I just want to spend some good time observing the sky. I don't want to get into anything srs with it.

Probably taking some amauter photos (nothing special).

They're typically used to look for astronomical phenomenae, planets and stars and uranus

I enjoyed the astronomy courses I took. IIRC ironmanlet is an amateur astronomer.
