I've began doing IF by accident.

intermittent fasting.

slowly over the last 3 years or so I've naturally stopped eating in the morning.

I decided to purposely forgo eating except for the timeframe from 11am until 6pm. So I have a 7 hour window to eat.

I did about 90 minutes of bicycling this morning at 5am, and still haven't eaten, it's 10:30am now.

I'm getting hungry now, but I'm not starving.

This is EZ.

Its super easy.

People write 200 page books on IF.

I got it in 3 words: Don't eat breakfast.

Nothing at all wrong with breakfast, people overdo it.

Bacon, eggs, Oatmeal, fruit, and yogurt are great breakfast meals. Stick around 300 to 400 calories and you're good.

I love IF because I'm naturally a fat kid. I'm usually not hungry in the morning, and I prefer to workout on an empty stomach. Then you can eat almost as much as you want and not get fat.

Yeah I like doing the long morning without even having to think about food.

Yesterday I got out of bed around 4:30am, no calories until 2:45pm. Final calories for the day consumed around 6:20pm.

The lack of food prep/dishes/time spent eating has been great.

I have been adding some salt to my water in the morning because I do AM cardio, and have been getting headaches in the midday without the sodium.

Not even trying to cut weight, and honestly not even doing IF every day. Just when it seems most convenient to not eat all day.

Gonna try OMAD for a couple days before the end of the month.

I sort of backed into it. I always do my cardio around 5am - eating before 5am felt like a hassle. When I stopped eating pre-cardio, I slowly got used to it, and then discovered I was LESS HUNGRY post-cardio when I didn't eat before.

Yesterday I didn't eat until 2:45pm, and honestly could have gone to 5pm easily because I still wasn't "starving" at that time.

It's weird how your body adapts, but it does.

Been on a 18/6 window for 6 months now with 20/24hr fasts Sat/Sun. Cardio/weights 5x/week. Active job 10-12hrs 6x/week. 2200-2600 cals per day.

If you can handle being hungry for an hour or two a day then this program is gold. Once you become adjusted to it and knock out a few weeks of 24hr fasts on the weekend the weekdays arent even a struggle. Ill be hungry for lunch at 2pm almost every day, but almost never hungry for dinner. OMAD on the weekends is cake too. Easier when you have something to do to keep you occupied. Ill be hungrier if I hang around all day as opposed to working all day then fasted cardio. Keep the mind busy and the body will adjust its cravings. The mental sharpness is 100% true and if you are a sick twisted fuk then the feeling post 24hr fasted cardio when you are fully depleted, drenched in sweat and vasular as fuk is GOAT for motivation. You feel as though you iterally cannot do any more to help the shredding process. Mind>body.

Lost 15 pounds, went from 13% to 9% bodyfat and my total has gone down 20lbs across three lifts. Basically just got rid of 10lbs of fat and doubled my daily energy and work capacity (zero cardio and one less day of weights prior). Going to shred down to unsustainable levels then come back to reality and try and hold for life. Journal entry over.

I've already noticed this^^. Yesterday after I had my first meal at 2:45pm, I DID NOT want to eat a full meal for late dinner. Ended up having half of what I'd normally have, and honestly it felt like too much.

Ive been on a cut the last few weeks, losing weight feels good man. Specifically on Saturday I went most of the day with no food and I was never hungry for some reason. After hour 20 of no food I decided I had to eat something even though I felt no hunger. I wonder if I should have kept going tho...

any specific macros you going for OP? I do track them for Calories in and Protein intake

Average around 2200 a day with about 145g of protein but yesterday for example I ended up getting 175g because I lifted (leg day) ran and did a 2 hour climbing day so it all more so depends on my day

?!? Coffee is an IFers best friend as long as you don't load it with calories. Natural appetite suppressant.

Oh really, interesting. I put in a little bit of milk and honey in my coffee though. I guess that's not too many calories and I only drink 1-2 cups.

black coffee is what would keep you in a fasted state of mind so good chance the milk and honey might be enough to tip the scale. I believe it was anything with 50 calories or more would break your fast.

No, I haven't been tracking any of it.

I should track macros because it's easy to come up short on protein when you're only eating 1 big meal and 1 small meal per day.

I make chili with ground beef + beans for my meal prep almost every week - that chit is a life saver for protein intake.

I find ANY calories at all of carbs just bonks me out in the AM. Literally 1 chocolate chip cookie will fuk up my blood sugar spikes to the point of ending my cardio session (bonk)
