Will vehicle prices ever return to normal?

Who the fuk is buying these $60k-$100k trucks? Why aren't Tacomas going down in price at all? How are dealerships making any money?

Used vehicles are barely going down in price.

How is the whole car market not collapsing in on itself?

I was assuming things would get back to normal after interest rates went way the fuk up, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect on vehicles as far as I can tell .
No idea how anyone’s affording a new vehicle and a mortgage. Must be in major debt

auto lots full of 2022 trucks with 100k price tags.. almost two years old. dealers will have to drop or lose their ass. can't imagine what the depreciation will be.

also, fuk GM for slowing down production to generate a fake shortage.. gotta keep those margins high and appease the stock holders.

Truthfully, things like Corollas hadn't budged in price in ten years. They were due for a bump. Entry level cars now are 25k.

And anyone who has electric or hybrid is just basing it on demand. People think if they pay 30k more for an electric they will save money, and over a 7-8 year period it's a break even.

The conspiracy theory is that they want the working class to go without vehicles at all and have everything delivered and work from home and the only vehicles on the road are robot electric cars that deliver things and you get an Uber every now and then to go to the dentist or whatever.

The auto insurance industry and car dealers and politicians who like vehicles taxes from registration and fuel oppose this.

Cars are actually much higher quality now than I've ever experienced. I upgraded from a 2011 to a 2018, and it's way better and pretty much everything is higher quality. I don't think this is true at all.

Bro, I know several of my neighbors who have leased vehicles that are in the 40k range while working dead end jobs.

Hell, I even see the youngsters trying to act all high mighty leasing expensive vehicles working at mcdonalds, living in a ****ty apartment with 3 other people or living at home with mommy and daddy.

2 cars I have both paid off and they are from 1994 and 1998.

Of course it is better, but just because it is better doesn't mean it is cheap to fix.

My friend owns a auto repair shop and there is countless people with newer vehicles complaining why an electrical issue is always happening or why costs is so high.
