Parents who let their kids get fat should be charged with child abuse
Their neglect sets their kids up with a lifetime of weight issues and problems related to that. These parents need to be punished with prison time.

Fully agree, could argue its worse than giving them alcohol and letting them smoke as food is easily available at that age in shops.

I think it's a form of neglect and a sign of bad parenting. I think it should be treated that way. If the kid is a bit chunky but otherwise healthy and able to do everything a kid can do it's one thing, but when you have a 8 year old that can't walk across the parking lot because he's a chunk that's a problem.
If your kid showed up after summer break with his ribs showing because you weren't feeding him enough, they would call CPS before he got home. He shows up with a gut hanging over his belt they won't say anything.

I would say they should get one warning and there should be a one-month follow up, if the issue is not resolved, and the kid is still fat, parents should be made to clean parks highways and beaches for six months, community service, 8 hours per day, and pay a $50,000 fine, Rich parents should be made to pay a million, the money should go to me obviously.

Best case scenario, folks in that situation (who became fatties as kids) might get thin by obsessing over health/fitness 24/7, but the weight always ends up returning as soon as they decide they don't want to make fitness their entire lives. It's very sad, ideed.

While the parents are probably at fault for being fat fuks themselves and letting their children eat whatever to shut them up, the real blame is on the government.
brb just eat "healthy" foods and you'll lose weight, like cereal with milk, avocados, beans, nuts, or anything else that doesn't fill you up but has hella calories...
diets are bad too, if you restrict your eating, you probably have an eating disorder or body dysmorphia...

It's so sad when you see little kids who are so fat they can barely walk. Usually they are with a fat mom and dad. It's pretty rare to see a fat kid with thin/fit parents.
