Yea and that was purely from horrific personal hygiene and public hygienic and sanitation practices. It allowed disease to spread and just annihilated so many people.
Really does blow your mind thinking about that. We may be fat and unhealthy as a society and addicted to tons of drugs, but man thank god we weren't in bubonic plague times. wtf.

I used to have a whole list of droughts that led to famine too like the Chinese drought and famine of 1879 or the African drought and famines in the early to mid 1800s.

Back then humanity was in survival mode and didn't understand the world around them.
Now, we have technology and know about the world. We know there's enough resources for everyone on the planet to live a decent life - food, shelter, security, education, healthcare, etc. Almost all suffering is man made.
